Our Story

Therapy that doesn't fit the mold.

We've been there. The awkward therapy session that didn't sit right. The space where our messy identities, unique priorities, and cultural differences were met with raised eyebrows. Therapy hasn't always been a space for those who don't fit the mold -- but it can be.

We’re a team of BIPOC counsellors committed to creating a space where you can show up just as you are. Here, your identity— lived experience, culture, gender, sexual orientation —is recognized, respected, and honored.​

What brought us together? We grew up feeling like therapy wasn't a space for us; our layered identities, complex priorities and cultural differences weren't fully welcomed. Therapy hasn't always been a space for those who don't fit the mold -- but it can be.

We support young people and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, burnout, and personal growth. Our approach blends evidence-based therapy with somatic work and lived experience, offering therapy that’s both effective and meaningful.

Anxiety can show up in your body, thoughts, and emotions—like a knot in your belly, spiraling thoughts, or irritability—and is often compounded by cultural, family, or societal pressures. Sometimes it’s hardest to communicate with the people we care about most. Emotions can run high, or we might feel shut down, distant, or stuck. Our team supports you in building stronger, healthier relationships with family and friends—helping you navigate attachment patterns, set boundaries, and communicate in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.

Burnout AND STRESS

Are you feeling dull, worn-out, agitated or exhausted? Sometimes you can be left feeling like Sisyphus, pushing the rock up the hill, only to have it roll down once again. There are proven ways to recover from burnout. ​ If your work exposes you to the suffering of others, you may also be experiencing compassion fatigue. We’re here to help you find your footing again, reconnect with yourself, and restore balance in your life.

TRAUMA HEALING

Many of us have faced experiences that left us overwhelmed—whether a single event, an unsafe relationship, or a difficult period in life. Trauma can leave lasting effects in our body, mind, and emotions, keeping us on high alert or triggered in daily life. The good news: trauma is treatable. Our counsellors are trained and experienced in trauma work, helping you reconnect with yourself, reclaim a sense of safety, and feel grounded, strong, and in control.

INTERCULTURAL DYNAMICS

1st and 2nd generation immigrants often navigate a liminal space, defining values and paths that can feel at odds. Dating, career, family, boundaries, and intergenerational trauma become part of the equation. Meanwhile,  experiences of discrimination or racism can add another layer of strain. We provide a space to process these challenges, explore their impact, and take steps that feel right for you.

Depression can show up as deep sadness, numbness, or a loss of interest in the things that once brought you joy. You might feel low, lonely, irritable, or stuck in negative thought patterns. We provide a safe, compassionate space to process these feelings and reconnect with your strengths. Together, we can explore small steps toward purpose, vitality, and meaning, helping you re-engage with life in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

IDENTITY AND PURPOSE

The question “Who am I, really?” is a courageous place to start. In counselling, we explore core values, sexual orientation, gender, self-expression, and personality, creating space to understand and accept yourself.
